    QUESTION #1
Over $300,000 off-budget spending of taxpayer dollars was approved a year ago by Commissioners for purchase of The Drug Store, now known as Co-Square. The “anchor tenent” is an internet based agricultural company that analyzes soil via computerized sensors for optimal growing outcomes – they will rent 8 desks at $150/desk. Other office space is allocated for Caswell Co. staff which will incurred operational expenses. How will internet based business flourish given 1/3 of households do not have internet service? How many decades before this large County investment in Co-Square pays off the investment and operational debt?

    QUESTION #2
On Sept. 4, the Governor expanded mass gatherings allowing 25 people to occupy indoor facilities. It’d be nice to get the kids out of parking lots and enable adults to not have to isolate. When would you open Caswell Public Library, Senior Center, and Parks & Recreation for use by the public and/or school children?

    QUESTION #3
Caswell Co. property tax rates are currently 0.735 – – higher than Alamance .6700, Guilford .7350, Durham .7122, and Rockingham .6950. Another tax increase to pay for BYHS construction is imminent next year. Also a new fire tax and an increase in solid waste fees over the 2 past years have increased property tax bills. With far less infrastructure and services than these other counties, how can these high tax rates be prevented or better managed in the future?
