Jeans for a cause, an annual tradition at Carolina Farm Credit, recently chose the Caswell Cancer Resource Fund as the recipient of monies raised.
Morgan Pearson, Yanceyville Branch Office Coordinator & Loan Assistant at Carolina Farm Credit says that, “Jeans for a Cause was implemented by Carolina Farm Credit in an effort to reach out and help our local communities. Each Friday beginning October 11th, each employee who participated could wear jeans in exchange for $5 per Friday to go towards a local nonprofit of our choice.”
All employees of Farm Credit were given the choice to participate in this fundraiser and every single employee at the Yanceyville, NC location decided to participate.
When asked what made them choose the Caswell Cancer Resource Fund as the beneficiary of funds raised, Pearson said that “We wanted to give to a nonprofit that we haven’t helped previously with a project and we learned about the Caswell Cancer Resource Fund and felt like this money would be beneficial to residents of Caswell County who are in need.”
In years past, Pearson said that Farm Credit has sponsored Jeans for a Cause but they typically donated to one general cause for the whole association (ex. for major hurricanes, floods, etc.). This is the first year each office has been able to choose a local nonprofit in order to keep funds in the county.
In all, the employees of Carolina Farm Credit in Yanceyville, NC raised $265 and 100% of that went to the Caswell Cancer Resource Fund.
The Yanceyville Branch of Carolina Farm Credit is honored to assist citizens of Caswell County through the Caswell Cancer Resource Fund. We are a very community-involved organization and we love being able to raise funds to help those in need.”
